New Espresso….

looking back in my inbox i see that this is the first espresso since May, and even that one began with an apology !

To be totally honest there has not been a monday morning that has passed without me thinking i should sit down write a short thought and fire it off, but every time i have sat down i just have not had anything to say, and i really didn’t want to write for the sake of it.  This has mainly been due to many issues, writing for my Masters degree, demands from ministry and generally feeling creatively dry.

And although all of these things are still on the agenda i do feel as though the balance of life is tipping back in my favour, hence this e mail.

I guess in many ways the absence of these thoughts are an espresso in themselves, a tale of life and the different times and seasons that we may well find ourselves in…..

Anyways enough said, on with the espresso…..

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
Gen 1

Someone once said “Seeking God is like staring at the Sun, it’s easier to let it light everything else.”

I wonder how many times in our lives we seek out the sun to check that it is really there, or actually is it the fact that it’s light constantly surrounds us that means we don’t notice it most of the time?
Then at other periods, sunsets, sunrises, bright hot days, we find that we can not ignore it even if we tried !

And so when it comes to God, do we find ourselves chasing something that is always there, surrounding us at every moment, weather we realise it or not?

This week take a step back and think about the God who surrounds you, always……

Grace and Peace
