Heroes and walls….

The Fish Gate was rebuilt by the sons of Hassenaah. They laid its beams and put its doors and bolts and bars in place. 4 Meremoth son of Uriah, the son of Hakkoz, repaired the next section. Next to him Meshullam son of Berekiah, the son of Meshezabel, made repairs, and next to him Zadok son of Baana also made repairs.
Nehemiah 3
This whole section of the bible lists everyone who started to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem.  Its one of them parts in the bible that is very easy to skip over, but i think these bits of scripture hold some amazing secrets about ourselves and about God.

You see the list, names people who didn’t do a huge, amazing, wonderful thing, but rather people who maybe laid one, or two bricks in the whole wall.

It doesn’t take much to be a hero, what might seem like a small act of kindness or extra effort might make such a differance that people in thousands of years time might read your name on a list and know what you did.

this week take the time to do something good no matter how small.

Grace and Peace
